We have an awesome responsibility as parents, aunts, uncles, godparents, and/or other leadership and mentoring roles in the lives of children. Did you know that records of royal lineage in the bible clearly demonstrate that a person's level of submission to God is often mirrored in the upbringing of the child?!
As parents and mentors, we must model and teach them how to live according to God's Word. We should always consider the example we set for the children and how they would fare if they walk in our example. Ask yourself, what place will Jesus, the Word of God, and the church have in their lives based on my example. Will they seek God's direction as the ultimate guide for decisions? Will they develop strong godly relationships, be good stewards of what gifts and finances God has blessed them with? In life, keep such considerations before you as the children watch your every move!
As we did, the children in our lives will eventually grow up and make their own decisions. As godly parents, we would be heartbroken if our kids' made poor choices and suffered the associated consequences Proverbs 22:6 tells us to “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. Praise be to God, our Lord allows us to ask forgiveness and make U-turns away from sin. Even if our children are grown, they and we can ask for forgiveness, share what has been learned, and model a godly life by working as good stewards for Jesus.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Father God, in the Name of Jesus, we recognize that we have a covenant with You—a covenant that was ratified by Your shed blood at Calvary. Because Your body was broken for us and Your blood was shed on our behalf, we acknowledge that You, who was without sin, bore sin, sickness, disease, sorrow, grief, fear, torment, un-forgiveness, strife, and lack for us. Because of Your willing sacrifice, we have complete redemption, total deliverance, from the works of Satan. Thank you, Lord, we will give You glory, honor, and forever praise your name!.

Williams, Dea. Burch, the Blakeney/Dunbar and White/Wilson families, and all NJBC families, friends, co-workers, the needy, downtrodden, lost, and others who have said, “Pray for me!” Give them a call with an encouraging word that they may know that we love them and are lifting them in prayer!
