Psalm 127:3 tells us that children are a “heritage from the Lord and fruit from the womb which is a “reward.” Have you taken the time lately to let the children in your life know how precious they are to you and how much they are loved? Do you think about how the things we say and do either influence, guide, or hurt them as a stumbling block? Or do we pay more attention to what they do wrong, and their shortfalls and not enough attention and love given that child are of great value to the Lord and a “reward” for us.
Don’t assume because they are young that their time on earth is long or that we can put off for tomorrow, showing love, giving instruction, and, if required, discipline. Would you answer to Christ for not guiding them in His way with your only excuse, “But he/she was so young, and I thought I had time!” Be careful to focus on encouraging and helping children to grow in the Lord now; to live righteously now, and to serve Christ now. Tomorrow is not promised. Young people are dying, jailed, and killed on our streets daily as if they were no more than flies!
Continue to teach them, and do not grow weary or frustrated by their desire to “follow the crowd or seek popularity or do things their own way and time”. Many of us have been that way before and Christ allowed us those experiences so that we could understand and better train others to follow Him. Lift the children up in prayer daily, praying not only for their safety but for Jesus' peace, contentment, and joy throughout their lives according to His will and purpose for their lives. Pray for His strength, wisdom, and protection from the enemy. Lead, by Christian example, that they may know the Lord as a shelter and strong tower from the enemy all the days of their lives!
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Father God, in the Name of Jesus, we recognize that we have a covenant with You—a covenant that was ratified by Your shed blood at Calvary. Because Your body was broken for us and Your blood was shed on our behalf, we acknowledge that You, who was without sin, bore sin, sickness, disease, sorrow, grief, fear, torment, un-forgiveness, strife, and lack for us. Because of Your willing sacrifice, we have complete redemption, total deliverance, from the works of Satan. Thank you, Lord, we will give You glory, honor, and forever praise your name!.
