Have you ever asked the Lord to give you a better testimony? Then consider the old adage that says, “Watch what you pray for-- you may get it!” At the root of a “good testimony” is having experienced some difficult times. We receive strength during those times and that strength is the salve of healing for those who need to know that Jesus is real in all of our lives. When people can see for themselves that we can overcome adversity through the strength and power of Jesus Christ, we become emissaries for Christ.
Sometimes lost and hurting people frequently don’t want to hear scripture recited or to have a tract shoved in their hands. They want to know “Have you been where I am? “Have you felt what I am feeling?” They want to hear things you have endured for Christ's sake to know you likely can understand what they are going through.
Our God knows the plans He has for us. His plans are never to hurt us but for our good, to give us hope and endurance, and a stronger testimony! God sometimes allows us difficult times so that we may have a true testimony and a heart of understanding for those striving to be more like Christ.
So if you want a stronger testimony but are not willing to face difficult times, watch that for which you pray! But know if you love and trust Him, He is always in control and working for our good in good times and bad!
Hello Saints,
Have you ever heard someone wonder aloud that since the Lord has promised in His word to provide, why doesn't He always meet our needs? If you have ever been one to wonder about such, think about it. Was your request a need or a desire? A need is something essential, according to God's will for our life. Yet a desire is something we want for ourselves or others and is frequently based on the expectation of enjoyment, ease, or comfort.
Nothing is wrong with a desire, as long as it is within God's will and way. But the Lord never promised to grant all our "desires". so, not receiving what we "want" is not an indicator of God's faithfulness. He promised to meet our needs. And the Lord determines what is best for us, be it a want or a need.
So maybe we should examine our wants and needs. If it seems the Lord is withholding something you deem essential, trust that what He is working on will be even better!
Love you in the Lord,
Sis. G
We ask the Lord to encamp His angels around: our sick, shut-in, traveling; bereaved, and our young people at home and away. We ask the Lord’s supernatural blessings of strength, faith, comfort, and/or healing of all who have said, “Pray for me!” We also request the Lord for healing blessings and traveling grace to cover the Wike Family as they journey later this week to be with Deaconess Wike’s brother, Curtis Carr, who is seriously ill. And we also thank the Lord for making our hearts glad with the safe return of our beloved Pastor. When we ask in faith and trust God with all our needs, He will answer our prayer! What a mighty God we serve!
Today we will be blessed with a morning message from Minister Soammes Williams of the Metropolitan Baptist Church. Let us pray with and for him that he may preach in the strength and power of our Savior, ever confident in knowing that God is ever beside us, leading the way home.
