Scripture tells us that to whom much is given, much is required. Jesus has given us not only “much” but the ultimate through His gift of salvation. One things we are required to do in return is to “stand in the gap” for our families, church, communities, and others as needed.
In Ezekiel 22:21 the Lord called upon Ezekiel to find a leader who was just and righteous; and who possessed moral integrity and social consciousness to “stand in the gap” and lead Jerusalem back to God. This would have saved the city from catastrophic destruction. But no man could be found.
If our families, churches and communities are to survive today without being destroyed by our own lack of moral and social consciousness, we, God’s people, must “stand in the gap” and lead others to Christ. Read in Mark 5:19, of a man healed by Jesus and told to “Go home to thy friends and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee”. We too must go and tell others what the Lord has done for us! We must joyfully and continuously tell the story of our Savior, everywhere we go, and His compassion for us. We must tell how He gave His life for us and our salvation. We must joyously praise His holy name, and let the world know that God has smiled on us and set us free!
Will you stand in the gap for Jesus—not just today but always?
REMEMBER CHURCH MEMBERS MEETING ON JULY 12th at 10 am
Revelation 22:12 encourages us, "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according 10 what he has done."
Are you giving the Lord true service? True service occurs when we allow the Lord to work through us for His glory and honor. In His grace, God freely gives salvation to those who believe in Jesus. Understand we cannot earn this gift, nor do we deserve it. But our Lord has promised to reward us according to what we have done for Him. We must be careful, though, that our actions are for Christ's glory. If motives are self-serving, the only benefit we receive is the praise (if any) that we hear from people in this life. And we must know and understand that man's approval is not satisfying or lasting.
While some rewards will be only given in heaven, some blessings can be experienced now. For instance, we can know great joy when we allow God to bless others through us. And we can feel a deep satisfaction in realizing that we have been pleasing in Christ's sight, and a profound sense of fulfillment when we lead a person to Jesus and help to show them how the Lord wants us to walk in faith.
Serving others is a great benefit and a responsibility for Christians. We should prayerfully consider our motives to make sure that our goal is to glorify Christ, that we may be found pleasing in His sight.
Remember, only the way of the cross leads home!

Hello Saints,
Have you ever heard someone wonder aloud that since the Lord has promised in His word to provide, why doesn't He always meet our needs? If you have ever been one to wonder about such, think about it. Was your request a need or a desire? A need is something essential, according to God's will for our life. Yet a desire is something we want for ourselves or others and is frequently based on the expectation of enjoyment, ease, or comfort.
Nothing is wrong with a desire, as long as it is within God's will and way. But the Lord never promised to grant all our "desires". so, not receiving what we "want" is not an indicator of God's faithfulness. He promised to meet our needs. And the Lord determines what is best for us, be it a want or a need.
So maybe we should examine our wants and needs. If it seems the Lord is withholding something you deem essential, trust that what He is working on will be even better!
Love you in the Lord,
Deaconess Campbell
