In His Word, God has commanded us to serve one another (Galatians 5:13). As in many things in life, there are inevitably people and situations which make obedience a challenge. But as always, God has a plan to help us through a challenge. In this case, God has provided a biblically based understanding of Christian service, and He is the One whom we serve! No matter what our task, our desire is ever to glorify God!

When we have this underlying motivation, to glorify our God, it impacts our efforts such that because we love Him, we give our task our best in love of our God! It may seem what we are doing is unimportant or even fruitless to others but can trust that He is using us for His purpose and to glorify Him for all to see! We can obey Him with joyful hearts, not concerning ourselves about the thoughts of others or for worldly approval, for our labor is not in vain when doing in service to our King!

The only thing we need to seek is to know that our heavenly Father is pleased with our service and that He has promised to reward those who serve Him wholeheartedly (Eph. 6:7-8).
